The consumer society in which we live threatens to devastate the world which is still rich in resources and infinite in life forms. This means that we will leave our children a very hard and dangerous world.

We strongly believe in the concept of sustainable harnessing of natural resources as the only prerequisite for sustainable development, and nature is our biggest sustainability teacher.

What is sustainable development?

The concept of sustainability is first mentioned in “The Limits to Growth” report issued in 1972 by the Roman Club. Two years later, at the Stockholm Conference, the United Nations established the first official link between economic growth and environmental changes.
Still, the most famous and most widely used definition of sustainable development is the one of Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, printed in the report "Our common future" (better known as “The Brundtland Report”) in 1987:

Sustainable development is a development which satisfies the needs of current generations, without compromising the possibilities of future generations to satisfy their needs and develop their culture and civilization.

How to achieve sustainable development?

To understand the concept of sustainability you don’t have to go very far – just look at nature around you. There is no irreversible utilization, no waste. Nature functions in circles – what is waste for one is food for another. The leaves which fell this summer in the city park are food for the soil from which new grass will grow and the same trees will draw food for new leaves the next spring.
When we humans manage to apply nature’s principles in every aspect of our existence – we will achieve sustainable development of our civilization and all those who will come after us.
For this to happen, we need to change the policies and activities of all factors on all levels.
