We are only 4 days apart from COP15 in Copenhagen. In just 4 days the world leaders will have a unique opportunity to come to an agreement which will greatly determine the future of all life forms. At this point we, the ordinary people, can at least speak up and ask the leaders to be aware of the historical responsibility they will have in Copenhagen. The agreement they’ll make will, to a great extent, define our chances to keep the global warming below 2°C, thus preventing at least the most catastrophic consequences. If the negotiating parties (especially those from the developed countries, who are most responsible for the climate change) continue with empty “pledges”instead of taking the responsibility with an urgent and determent action, then these chances drastically “shrink”. Warming above 2°C brings quite uncertain future – a future in which the climate change consequences will be most probably unmanageable.
Front 21/42 will participate in the Conference and directly contribute to the “reminding” of the world leaders of their responsibility.
Meanwhile we bring to mind the importance of + 2°C and what are the “allowed” emissions:AirClim factsheet
